Wyndham Durango

For those who enjoy fun in the snow, hiking in the mountains or just getting away from it all, Durango is an excellent choice for a timeshare. This small city of about 17,000 is located near the mountains and also near the borders of both New Mexico and Utah, making it ideal for those who love the outdoors and wide-open spaces.

A Wyndham Durango timeshare is the perfect home base for a visit to the area, located directly next to the San Juan National Forest and the Animas River. From here it's a quick trip to a wide variety of terrain for outdoor fun and exploration and just a very short jaunt into the center of Durango.

Wyndham Durango Timeshare Accommodations

Every condo unit at Wyndham Durango is a king-sized one-bedroom of 310 total square feet in size. The kitchen is attached to the living area, which also has a queen-sized sleeper sofa for guests. The bathroom features a Whirlpool tub, and there is a private balcony off of the bedroom.

The kitchen is fully equipped with refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, and toaster. An array of cookware and flatware is also provided for the convenience of guests.

Other room features include cable TV, a DVD player, alarm clock, ironing board with iron and free WiFi.

Wyndham Durango Amenities

Wyndham Durango timeshare owners and their guests can enjoy two outdoor hot tubs, a fitness center, and a laundry room. A concierge is also available on call. Braille signage and special needs features are also available.

The Great Outdoors, Right Outside

San Juan National Forest is literally just steps right outside of Wyndham Durango. It's perhaps best known for its hiking trails and campgrounds, especially for amazing wildflower displays in summer and the changing of the leaves in fall. But it's also open to off-road vehicles, bicycling or just a scenic drive.

The Animas River is best known for whitewater rafting, but is also a popular year-round fishing destination. The river is well-supplied with various types of trout, including rainbow and brook. During the winter months, it is also possible to spot bald eagles in the area.

Durango Colorado

Downtown Durango has many buildings that have been preserved from the city's frontier roots. In addition to many shops and restaurants, visitors can enjoy horse-drawn carriage rides, live music and art exhibits. The city is also pedestrian-friendly, and don't miss the free bottles of water at the Welcome Center if you plan to spend the day walking around.

When done exploring Durango, visitors can catch the Narrow Gauge Railroad to Silverton. The ride lasts for a little over three hours and is incredibly scenic, and is also periodically accompanied by narration about the history of the area and the railroad. Silverton is the home of a former silver mining camp and is now home to shops and restaurants for visitors that take day trips out by train and bus.
